Explore our iconic exhibits that tell the story of aerospace history, from the wartime needs that created The Hughes Flying Boat, SR-71 Blackbird, & F-117 Nighthawk to space exploration with the Titan II.
Spruce Goose
The world’s largest wooden airplane is the crown jewel of our Aviation Museum, with a wingspan of over 300 ft. Discover what led to the creation of this aircraft and the events that led to its first and only flight on November 2, 1947.
SR-71 Blackbird
Faster than a speeding bullet, the SR-71 Blackbird broke records until its retirement in 1999, including the world’s fastest jet. With speeds over 2,000 miles per hour, no other reconnaissance aircraft has operated in more hostile airspace or with such impunity.
F-117 Nighthawk
The world’s first operational stealth aircraft, the F-117 Nighthawk joins the Museum’s collection. The aircraft’s unique design enabled it to reflect radar waves, making it virtually undetectable to the enemy. Help us on our mission to restore the F-117.
Titan II
The Titan II SLV was the main vehicle for the Gemini program, which was an early NASA program focused on human flight. This aircraft is the only remaining example of a Titan II SLV and one of only a handful of Titan IIs on display worldwide.
